LET'S GET STARTED!
$285 Per Person
When a teenager attends Southland's summer teen camps, they are placed into a cabin of approximately 8 campers of like gender and age. Each cabin has a counselor who is dedicated to making the week of camp a success. Southland's junior camp serves young people who are 8 years old/going into the 3rd grade through those going into seventh grade.
All campers must submit a completed registration form by June 1st to avoid being charged an additional registration fee of $25. The Early Bird Discount (see below) applies to those who have submitted a completed registration form and the $25 registration. Camp opens for registration on Monday at 2:00 PM and continues till 4:00 PM. Departure is Saturday by 9:00 AM.
Arrival: Registration is from 2 - 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Camper activities begin at 5:00 p.m.
Departure: All camps are dismissed after breakfast on the last day of camp at 9 a.m. No camper will be allowed to leave early without prior written permission from a parent.
Sponsors: Due to limited sponsor housing and growing numbers, we are asking that only two sponsors per ten campers register to ensure a spot on site. Any additional sponsors that register will be put on a waiting list for camp housing and must be willing (if needed) to book their own hotel. The camp fee will be $75 per person if staying in town. Sponsor children do not count as “sponsors” or count towards camper total. Available housing is first come, first serve. Individuals should note any special requests (i.e. allergy or handicapped needs) in the comment section. We are no longer able to offer the sponsor discount previously offered.

DEAR PARENTS,
We are so grateful for the trust and confidence you are placing in their ministry to your young people. The camp takes safety, both physical and spiritual, very seriously and understand the weight of caring for a large group of young children for a week. You can be assured that situations ranging from water activities, conversations in the cabin, amount of sugar intake, etc. are closely monitored by the Southland counselors on a 24/7 basis. Southland's policy during Junior weeks is that counselors stay with their campers at all times. In other words, Junior campers are always with a responsible adult. If you have any questions about policy or have additional concerns, please reach out to the camp office at 318.894.9154. They staff are ready to assist you and ensure that your child has a fun and safe week of Junior camp.
Sincerely,
The Southland Staff
Sincerely,
The Southland Staff

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES
General Registration Guidelines
Southland purposes to provide the best customer experience possible, which begins with the registration process. To improve efficiency, order, and accuracy, all registrations must now be completed by the parents of campers through our online system. We no longer accept mailed or emailed forms. Each church will be given a specific code which will be entered by the individual at checkout. This code connects the individual to the correct church and bills the church accordingly. Please do not share this code with anyone outside of your church unless you are transporting them and collecting their funds. A $25 registration fee is required along with the registration form. No reservation is made until the fee and form are submitted. Group leaders are not permitted to register on others’ behalf for both private and legal reasons. Additional Fees and Refunds The $25 registration fee is non-refundable for dropouts and non-transferable to another person. In addition, we are unable to offer refunds for partial weeks, i.e. for campers that leave early or arrive late. The only refund we may offer is the balance (minus the registration fee) paid for a “no-show” camper, if requested by Friday of the camp week. Any registrations made after June 1st will incur an additional $25 late fee per person. We do not accept any walk-ons or new registrations on Monday of the camp week. Roommate Requests Southland promotes a philosophy of integration and friendliness between churches. Therefore, we do not intentionally house more than three campers from one church in the same cabin. Each camper may request up to two roommates, but they are not guaranteed. If a youth pastor or pastor wishes to make differing requests, he must do so at least one week before the first day of the registered week. Requests must be even – i.e. two for two between cabins. Sponsor Information Due to limited sponsor housing and growing numbers, we ask that only two sponsors per ten campers register to ensure a spot onsite. Any additional sponsors that register will be put on a waiting list for camp housing and must be willing (if needed) to book their own hotel. Anyone staying in town will be given a half-price discount at check-in. Sponsor children do not count as “sponsors” or count towards camper total. Available housing is first come, first serve. Individuals should note any special requests (i.e. allergy or handicapped needs) in the comment section. We are no longer able to offer the sponsor discount previously offered. Limited RV sites are available; first-come, first-serve. Due to the constantly changing nature of the registration list, housing is not solidified until at least 10 days prior to the event. We appreciate your patience in waiting for the housing assignments via email after that point |
Payment Process
As detailed in the general registration guidelines, we must have both the form and the $25 registration fee for the reservation to be viable. Group leaders are responsible for collecting the remaining balance from the individuals which will be due in one check or card transaction upon arrival. Southland is unable to take individual payments for the remaining balance. Payment is due on Monday for the entire group. Late or uncertain arrivals must still be paid for up-front at check-in. Any discounts, dropouts, or late fees will also be accounted for at check-in. Check-In and Check-Out Check-in is open from 2-4:30 p.m. in the gym. Drivers will receive parking instructions at the entrance. Campers may leave their luggage at the vehicles until they meet their counselors. As mentioned in the payment process, churches must pay for their entire group in one check or card transaction. This payment is due at time of check-in, regardless of whether a person is arriving early or late. Check-out occurs on Saturday morning after breakfast, typically around 9 a.m. Sponsors are asked to check out at the office to return keys and lanyards, as well as pick up the sponsor packet and any picture orders. Anyone planning to leave camp before the official check-out, must notify the office at least a day in advance. Additional information may be needed to ship orders or permit campers to leave early. Waiting List In the event of a waiting list (if camp week is completely full), you will be automatically waitlisted for the week you have selected on the registration form. You will be notified and charged the registration fee if the individual makes it off the waiting list. We are unable to make “switches” for churches (i.e. substitute the new person for a dropout). The new person will go to the end of the waiting list to wait their turn, and the dropout will be replaced by the next person on the camp’s waiting list. Scholarship Campers Pastors or youth pastors interested in applying for scholarships must contact the office to verify if a camper is eligible. Scholarships are reserved for unsaved and unchurched young people. If the camper is eligible, the pastor will be given a coupon code which the camper will put in at the end of the registration form for checkout. Please feel free to contact the office with any further questions. |
