COMING SOON TO SOUTHLAND!
THE STORYOn May 18, 2023, a young lady named Bay Moore went to be home with the Lord because of sustained injuries in a four wheeler accident on the family farm. Bay lived in Ringgold, LA and attended Kingsway Baptist Church, the church attended by each of the full-time staff at Southland. Bay, along with her mom, dad and 6 siblings, lived directly behind the camp, through the pine trees where her family has lived for generations. As each camp at Southland approached, she and two of the oldest brothers would eagerly sign up for volunteering. Her parents estimate that she served, volunteered at or attended nearly every camp or retreat at Southland. She washed dishes, she kept children. She waitressed and she became a Barista at the coffee shop. She simply loved to serve!
Bay’s family feels that the best way to honor the life and legacy of their daughter, for eternal significance, is for all who desire to give something, donate those funds to Southland in an effort to install a new event to memorialize Bay's life and ministry at Southland. No one from Southland has asked for this. This effort was initiated directly from the Moore family. The camp staff has proposed the mini-golf concept to the Moore family and suggested naming the course "THE BAY" in honor of Bay's life and ministry at Southland. For generations to come, campers from across the United States of America will be able to play this mini-golf course and be challenged by the life of a young lady who faithfully served her Savior. |
THE NEEDSouthland is seeking to raise $100,000 to complete this new event. The desire is to order a pre-fabricated golf course as a base to which the camp staff will add landscaping, lighting, fencing, and additional aesthetics. The course will be located on the north-west corner of the gymnasium.

Sponsor a Hole at The Bay!

Take part in this special project by sponsoring a hole at "The Bay." Church, youth group, companies, and families are invited to partner with Southland in completing this project. Each sponsor will be displayed on hole map signs as well as listed on score cards. Take advantage of this opportunity to partner with Southland, provide a new activity at Southland, and commemorate the life of Bay Moore.
